Confirmation
of previous minutes: Mr
Simon Luke disputed the validity of the amended September minutes. Kevin
Harvey stated that he would review them and make a final decision
himself. The October minutes were confirmed by Andy Tribe and Julian
Carter.
Matters
arising: Simon
Luke asked Colonel Emmanuel if she had contacted his neighbour.
Colonel Emmanuel replied that she would answer during her crime
report.
Bust
of the Month: Nil
Address:
Sgt
Clark informed the meeting that the delivery of food and clothes to
Banana City would take place in the first week of December and pleaded
for any last minute donations to be delivered to the station.
Guest
Speaker: Eric
Tocknell, introduced by Julian Carter, presented a talk on the
importance of a positive attitude in combatting crime and success in
life.
Crime
report:
Colonel Emmanuel stated that she was disappointed that Simon Luke
felt that he could not talk to her in her office and preferred to wait a
whole month to bring his troubles to a public meeting.
She
further presented her crime report on the trends that had been recorded
by the station.
The
Colonel informed the meeting that the COP-17 summit would be held in
Durban and this had certain ramifications on the station strength. The
station had to provide a number of members to Durban to provide
perimeter security, further, many of the Bed and Breakfast lodges were
booked up with foreign and local attendees of the conference.
SDIP:
Mr Roger Day presented his findings. He reported that for the
most part people were satisfied with the service they received from the
SAPS. One person was unhappy with response time and this would be taken
up with the Station Commander.
Presentation:
Mr.
Harvey presented certificates to various role players who had made
commitments in the Banana City effort.
General:
Kevin
Harvey reminded all present that there would not be a meeting in
December and the next public meeting would be on 17 January 2012. He
wished everyone a safe and happy Christmas.
